How we ranked these casino apps

App Store ratings are a useful first filter, because they reflect thousands of people using the app on their own phones. But a high rating can hide problems with withdrawals or account checks, which tend to surface on Trustpilot instead. So we set each app’s rating against our full review of the brand: the clarity of its welcome terms, how quickly it pays out and what players complain about.

We favoured apps from UK-licensed operators with a large number of ratings, since a 4.7 from 19,000 people tells you more than a 4.8 from 40.

The top-rated casino apps, reviewed

1. Virgin Bet: the best-rated casino app

Virgin Bet’s Sports & Casino app rates 4.7 from around 19,000 UK App Store ratings, putting the sportsbook and casino in one place. The lobby runs to more than 1,300 games, including over 1,000 slots and more than 150 live tables, among them Virgin Bet-branded blackjack and roulette.

The welcome offer is one of the easiest to follow: deposit £10 in one go, play £10 on slots within seven days and accept 100 spins at 10p. You then have a week to use them. PayPal pays out instantly once a withdrawal is approved; debit cards take one to three business days. The weak spot is Trustpilot, where a 1.5 score reflects complaints about account checks and support. Our Virgin Bet Casino review has the detail.

2. LiveScore Bet: the same owner, a tighter offer

LiveScore Bet: Sports & Casino, published by LiveScore Ltd, rates 4.7 from around 11,000 UK App Store ratings. It shares an owner with Virgin Bet and an almost identical headline offer: play £10 on slots, get 100 spins on King Kong Cash Even Bigger Bananas Jackpot King.

The difference is time. You accept LiveScore’s spins via a pop-up within 24 hours of qualifying and have three days to use them. A daily free-to-play game for depositing members offers prizes from five free spins up to £750 in cash. E-wallet withdrawals are instant once approved. Read our LiveScore Casino review.

3. Betfred: the most-rated app on our list

Betfred Sports, Casino & Games rates 4.6 from around 69,000 UK App Store ratings and needs iOS 17 or later. It also offers the best-value welcome deal here: Promo Code SPINS, a £10 debit card deposit and £10 of slot play unlock 200 spins at 10p with no wagering on winnings.

One quirk: Betfred’s terms note that the eligible free spins games may not always be available on the iOS app. If they are missing, open betfred.com in your phone’s browser and play them there. Our Betfred Games review explains the offer.

4. bet365: fast, functional and built for regulars

bet365 runs separate apps for Casino, Games and Sports. bet365 Casino Games & Slots rates 4.5 from around 21,000 UK App Store ratings and needs iOS 15 or later. The design is utilitarian, but it loads quickly and searching the lobby is fast.

The welcome offer suits players who open the app every day: ten daily picks of 5, 10, 20 or 50 spins, with no wagering on winnings, after £10 in lifetime deposits. Promo Code 365GMBLR is entered at registration. E-wallets typically pay in one to four hours. Its Trustpilot score is low, at 1.3. See our bet365 Casino review.

5. Casimba: a small but well-rated iOS app

Casimba’s iOS app rates 4.3, though from only 38 ratings. Its site says an Android app is available too. The welcome offer pays 50 spins on Big Bass Bonanza as cash, capped at £100, plus a 50% match up to £50 on your second deposit with 10x wagering on the bonus. Withdrawals are held for at least two working days, which is slow by app standards.

6. The Vic: Android only, with real London tables

The Vic, run by Rank, has an Android app on Google Play but none on the App Store; iPhone users play in Safari, where the full site and live tables work. Its draw is live roulette streamed from the Grosvenor Victoria Casino in London, and PayPal, Apple Pay and Visa Fast Funds payouts often land within minutes of approval. Its welcome offer applies 10x wagering to the deposit and bonus combined, so we do not feature it as a headline deal. Read our The Vic review.

Other big-name casino apps

These brands all have well-known apps. We have not yet reviewed them in full, so we list their current welcome offers from the operators’ terms rather than scoring them.

Unibet Casino

Welcome offer: Play £30 Get 300 Free Spins. New GB customers opt in, deposit and stake £30 on slots, and receive 300 spins at 10p on Big Bass Splash with 10x wagering on spin winnings. Debit card or instant bank transfer only; claim within seven days; spins expire within 48 hours.

Grosvenor Casino

Grosvenor’s strength is live casino, with roulette and blackjack streamed from its own UK venues alongside Evolution and Pragmatic Play tables. Its welcome offer (Play with £60 plus 100 Spins, Deposit £20) applies 10x wagering to the deposit and bonus combined, so we do not present it as within the cap. Our Grosvenor Casino review sets out the sums.

Ladbrokes Casino

Welcome offer: 100 Free Spins. Deposit (certain types excluded) and bet £10 or more on slots to receive 100 spins at 10p on selected games, with 48 hours to accept them and seven days to use them.

Betway Casino

Welcome offer: Bet £20 & Get 150 Free Spins. Deposit and stake at least £20 by debit card and receive 50 spins at 10p a day for three days. There is no wagering on spin winnings, and the spins expire after seven days.

32Red

Coral Casino

Welcome offer: 100 Free Spins. The same structure as its sister brand Ladbrokes: deposit and bet £10 or more on slots for 100 spins at 10p on selected games, 48 hours to accept and seven days to use them.

William Hill Vegas

Welcome offer: Get 200 Free Spins when you stake £10. Promo Code: WHV200. Register with the Promo Code, opt in, then within seven days deposit and stake £10 from your main balance on the advertised game. The 200 spins at 10p expire after 72 hours, their winnings must be wagered 10x on the same game in that time, and winnings are capped at £30.

Casinos without an app: playing in the browser

Plenty of UK casinos skip the app stores altogether. Rialto, Magical Vegas and Spin and Win do not link to an app from their websites, and 247Bet and Lucky VIP are built to run in a mobile browser.

That is less of a drawback than it sounds. The mobile sites carry the full cashier, the safer gambling settings and the live tables. Most phones let you add a site to your home screen, which gives you a one-tap shortcut. And the Rank sites in that group pay most PayPal and major-bank withdrawals within 15 minutes through Fast Withdrawals, quicker than many apps.

Newer brands are especially likely to be browser-only; our round-up of new online casinos covers several of them.

Casino app or mobile site: which should you use?

An app is usually quicker to open, remembers your login and can use Face ID or a fingerprint. It also takes up storage and needs updating; Betfred’s app, for example, requires iOS 17 or later, which rules out some older iPhones.

A mobile site works on any phone with a browser and needs nothing installed. Occasionally it is the better option, as with Betfred’s free spins games, which its terms say may not always appear in the iOS app.

Whichever you choose, the account, balance and bonus are the same.

Paying and withdrawing on a casino app

Apple Pay is widely supported in UK casino apps and sites, including at bet365, Virgin Bet, The Vic and the Rank group’s casinos. Credit cards cannot be used for gambling in the UK, including when stored in Apple Wallet. Check the welcome terms before your first deposit, since some offers exclude certain methods: Betfred’s spins need a debit card, and the Rank sites exclude PayPal and Paysafe.

Our guide to casinos that accept Apple Pay and Google Pay without a bonus explains which wallets each site takes and how to deposit with no offer attached. For a wider look at sign-up deals, see our UK casino welcome bonuses comparison.

Safer gambling on your phone

A casino in your pocket is easy to open at any hour, which is why the safer gambling tools matter more on mobile. Every UK-licensed app gives you deposit limits, reality checks that show how long you have been playing, time-outs and self-exclusion, usually under account or settings. GAMSTOP blocks you from every UK-licensed gambling site and app in one step. Both iPhone and Android also let you set screen-time limits for individual apps.

UK casino app FAQs

What is the best casino app in the UK?

On UK App Store ratings, Virgin Bet: Sports & Casino and LiveScore Bet: Sports & Casino lead at 4.7, with Virgin Bet rated by around 19,000 users. Betfred has the most ratings on our list, around 69,000, at 4.6.

Yes, provided the operator holds a UK Gambling Commission licence. The apps we checked are rated 18+ on the App Store, and you will need to verify your identity before withdrawing.

Which casino apps have the best welcome offers?

Betfred’s 200 wager-free spins for £10, with Promo Code SPINS, is the strongest on this page for value. Virgin Bet and LiveScore both offer 100 spins for £10 of slot play.

Do casino apps pay out faster than websites?

No. Withdrawal speed depends on the operator, the payment method and your identity checks, not on whether you use an app or a browser.

Can I use Apple Pay on casino apps?

Yes, at many UK casinos, including bet365, Virgin Bet, The Vic and the Rank group’s sites. Only debit cards can be used through Apple Pay for gambling.

Do I need a Promo Code on a casino app?

Only where the offer asks for one. Betfred needs SPINS before your first deposit, bet365 uses 365GMBLR and William Hill Vegas uses WHV200. Virgin Bet and LiveScore need none.

Why can’t I find my free spins game in the app?

Some games are not available in every app. Betfred’s terms say its free spins games may not always appear on iOS; opening the site in your phone’s browser solves it.

Which UK casinos don’t have an app?

Rialto, Magical Vegas and Spin and Win do not link to one, and 247Bet and Lucky VIP run in a mobile browser. The Vic has an Android app but no iPhone app.

Are casino apps safe?

Apps from UK-licensed operators must follow Gambling Commission rules on fair games, identity checks and how customer funds are held. Download only from the official App Store or Google Play listing, or from the casino’s own website.
