Cloudbet opened in 2013, when Bitcoin was still a curiosity, and it is one of very few crypto bookmakers from that era still trading. It remains a sportsbook first, with live betting, lower-league football and high limits, and a casino of slots, live tables and a handful of in-house games sits alongside.
This review is for adults in countries where Cloudbet is licensed to accept them. Cloudbet is not licensed by the UK Gambling Commission and may not legally offer gambling to people in Great Britain; its own help pages name the UK and Australia as restricted regions. If you are in the UK, choose a UKGC-licensed site from our UK online casinos guide.
Not available in the UK. Cloudbet holds no UK Gambling Commission licence. Using a VPN to get round its country blocks breaches its terms and can mean a closed account and withheld winnings. 18+ only. Free, confidential help is available at GambleAware.org.
Our verdict
Cloudbet is the crypto site we would point an experienced sports bettor towards: thirteen years of trading, a current Curaçao licence under the new law and a proper set of limit and exclusion tools. It is held back by the anonymity of the people behind its holding company and by a casino that is solid rather than special.
How we reviewed Cloudbet
This is a desk review. We did not open an account or deposit, because Cloudbet does not accept players from the UK, where DailyStoke is based, and we would not get round that block. Instead we checked Cloudbet’s own help pages, two independent licence directories and the Australian regulator’s 2022 blocking notice, alongside trade press reporting. Where we could not confirm a detail, such as current bonus amounts, we have left it out rather than guess.

Licence and ownership
Cloudbet is run by Halcyon Super Holdings B.V., registered in Willemstad, Curaçao. Some payments are handled by a Cyprus subsidiary, Solas Technologies Limited. Its current licence, OGL/2024/328/0599, was issued by the Curaçao Gaming Authority on 23 May 2025 under the National Ordinance on Games of Chance, the law that ended Curaçao’s old sublicence system on 24 December 2024. Cloudbet previously also cited a licence from Montenegro, which no longer appears on its licensing page.
What the record does not show is who owns Halcyon. Cloudbet has never been a household name in the way Stake is, and its founders and shareholders are not published. For a brand of this age that is a gap, and the reason it sits second rather than first in our crypto casino ranking.
Australia. In October 2022 the Australian Communications and Media Authority asked internet providers to block Cloudbet, saying it was operating in breach of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. Cloudbet now lists Australia as restricted. It is a useful lesson: an offshore licence does not override the law where you live.
Welcome package
Cloudbet’s welcome offer is a package released over the first 30 days rather than a single deposit match. It combines rakeback on the house edge with daily casino and weekly sports cash drops, and parts of it can differ between customers. Because the amounts and terms change, and we could not confirm them on Cloudbet’s own page, we do not quote figures here. Before you opt in, read the official promotions page for the wagering requirement, how slots and table games count towards it, the maximum bet while a bonus is active and the expiry date.
Sportsbook and casino
The sportsbook is the reason to come. Football coverage runs deep, down to second and third tiers in many countries, alongside tennis, golf, snooker, horse racing and esports. Live betting comes with a match tracker, and Cloudbet is known for high limits, raised on request for larger accounts.
The casino carries slots from Play’n GO, Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw Gaming, NetEnt, Relax Gaming and Yggdrasil, plus live tables and game shows from Evolution. Cloudbet Originals are provably fair, with a published breakdown of how to check each result. Third-party games rely on their studios’ certified random number generators.
Deposits, withdrawals and verification
Cloudbet takes crypto only. That keeps things simple but carries risks a card casino does not have:
- Volatility. A balance held in Bitcoin or Ether moves with the market. Stablecoins such as USDT and USDC hold steadier, but they do not reduce the gambling risk.
- No chargebacks. A coin sent to the wrong address or network is usually lost for good.
- Verification. Cloudbet runs anti-money laundering checks and can ask for photo ID, proof of address and a selfie, typically before a withdrawal or when a transaction triggers a review. Reports suggest unverified accounts face lower daily withdrawal limits. Verify early so a win is not held up.
Safer gambling tools
Cloudbet’s account settings include deposit limits by day, week or month, cooling-off periods from 24 hours to three months and longer-term self-exclusion. Set a deposit limit before your first deposit, not after a bad session. Exclusion at Cloudbet does not stop you using other offshore sites, so if you need a break from gambling in general, consider blocking software and talk to someone: GambleAware.org has free advice and support.
Cloudbet against its rivals

Stake has the bigger casino and founders you can name, but a heavier list of incidents. BitStarz is a better choice if you only play slots and live tables.
Who should use Cloudbet
Cloudbet suits experienced bettors in countries where it is licensed to operate, who already hold crypto, understand how network fees and wallet addresses work and want football markets beyond the big leagues. It does not suit anyone in the UK, Australia or another restricted country, newcomers to crypto, or anyone who wants a regulator to take up an individual complaint on their behalf.
Cloudbet in 2027: Cashing Out Under New Tax Rules
In 2027 the anonymity many early Cloudbet customers assumed is gone at both ends of the trip. Cloudbet itself checks identity under the anti-money laundering rules that came with Curaçao’s licence reform, and the exchanges most players use to buy and sell coins now report to tax authorities. Under the OECD’s Cryptoasset Reporting Framework, UK-based platforms began collecting customer details on 1 January 2026 and file their first reports with HMRC by 31 May 2027, and the EU’s equivalent, DAC8, also took effect at the start of 2026. Whatever the rules on gambling winnings where you live, the coins you move in and out leave a trail.
