The road to this year’s World Aquatics Championships gets underway in Doha, Qatar on Saturday with the beginning of the 2019 FINA Marathon Swim World Series.
Great Britain have sent six athletes to the event (three female swimmers, three male), who will race over 10 kilometres. The top male and female finishers will each book an automatic qualifying place for the World Championships, which will be held in Gwangju, South Korea in July.
Britons Jack Burnell, Toby Robinson and Gordon Mason will hope to leave their mark in the men’s competition. Alice Dearing, Polly Holden and Danielle Huskisson are Britain’s female representatives and boast a variety of pedigree travelling to the Doha Corniche.
