Great Britain have raked in more medals at the European Junior Swimming Championships after Honey Osrin pulled off a major comeback in the final of the women’s 200-metre backstroke.
Osrin was fifth at the halfway point and completed a fantastic turn at the last to surge onto the podium and miss out on gold by just two one-hundredths of a second. She finished with a personal best time of two minutes and 10.30 seconds.
Osrin will return to the Kazan venue for the women’s 100-metre backstroke final on Saturday.
Matthew Richards and Jacob Whittle, meanwhile, are each set to compete in Friday’s men’s 100-metre freestyle final. They each played roles in the team that clinched 4×100-metre freestyle relay bronze on the opening day of the championships.
