The World Surf League (WSL) has announced a new broadcasting rights deal that will see its content broadcast via their network of channels in 2019. The 2019 WSL Championship Tour will kick off in April and will see surfers compete across 11 events to be crowned the 2019 champion. WSL CEO Sophie Goldschmidt said:
“We’re delighted with the additional coverage FOX Sports will bring to our events and millions of fans across multiple platforms. With our athletes continuing to take the sport to new performance levels, more people than ever can now witness the excitement of professional surfing and everything that comes with our world class events.”
The announced said the Fox broadcasting season will begin with a one-hour special on Saturday, March 23, analysing this season’s favourites and top contenders heading into the new campaign.”
