The 2019 World Aquatics Championships don’t get underway until July 12, but the early odds favourites are already beginning to emerge in the swimming events.
British swimming sensation Adam Peaty and Chinese phenomenon Yang Sun will compete in the 100-metre breaststroke and 400-metre freestyle, respectively, and will be expected to challenge for top honours.
Both stars are each priced 1/5 (1.20) to win those respective events with Bwin, although one can also take a punt on ‘Any Other Swimmer in the Field’ to win at amore tantalising price of 3/1 (4.00).
American Katie Ledecky is another who will be a runaway favourite in her event and is currently a shoo-in to take the women’s 800-metre freestyle at 1/20 (1.05). Australian rival Ariarne Titmus is 7/1 (8.00) to break her hold on a trophy she’s won at the past three world championships.
