Verdict: The Soundcore Sleep A30 is the best answer to a snoring partner in sleep earbud form. It pairs active noise cancellation with a charging case that hears the snoring and tunes the masking sound to match, and it costs £50 less than the Ozlo Sleepbuds 2. The trade-offs are a slightly bulkier bud and a battery that can fall short of the 9-hour claim.

What the Soundcore Sleep A30 does
Unlike the cheaper Sleep A20, the A30 has active noise cancellation (ANC), which uses microphones to detect incoming sound and cancel it with an inverted signal. Soundcore says the ANC is tuned for sleep, with separate low- and high-frequency noise reduction. Anker’s own guide says it targets low-frequency sounds such as traffic rumble, fans and heating.
On top of that sits a three-stage snore-masking system. The charging case, left on the bedside table, listens for snoring, analyses its volume and frequency, and tells the buds to adjust the masking audio. In a SoundGuys test with a recorded snore, the buds almost completely blocked it unless the recording was played at full volume.
You can stream Bluetooth audio, or play built-in sounds (white noise, brainwave audio and soundscapes) locally from the buds. They detect when you fall asleep and pause streaming, and the app sets wake-up alarms and produces sleep reports.
Price and plans
The A30 costs £199.99 on Soundcore’s UK store, with no subscription. In the US it launched at $229.99 in mid-2025 and later sold for $199.99. In January 2026 Soundcore launched a refreshed Sleep A30 Special in the US at $199.99, with up to 10 hours of battery and Calm sleep stories, and said it would eventually replace the original. T3 quoted the Special at £199.99 for UK buyers, the same as the original A30.
The cheaper Soundcore Sleep A20 has a £119.99 RRP but no ANC. It was sold out on Soundcore’s UK store when we checked, though Harvey Norman listed it at £89.
What we liked
It tackles the right frequencies. Passive tips struggle with low rumbles. SoundGuys’ measurements showed the A30’s ANC gave substantially better isolation than tips alone between 20Hz and 200Hz, where snoring, boilers and traffic sit. Its reviewer, a light sleeper, heard only their own breathing with ANC on, even without masking audio.
Snore masking that adapts. Rather than playing one loud sound all night, the case-led system responds to the snoring it hears. That means a lower average volume, which is kinder to your ears.
Comfortable on the side. The low-profile design avoided the pressure points of ordinary earbuds in SoundGuys’ testing, and the buds stayed in while tossing and turning. Soundcore offers foam tip options as well as silicone.
Good value against Ozlo. It costs £50 less than the Ozlo Sleepbuds 2 and adds ANC.
What we did not like
Battery may not cover a long night. Soundcore rates the buds at 9 hours at 50% volume. SoundGuys got 7 hours 33 minutes in testing, and Anker itself notes ANC shortens battery life, especially when streaming. If you sleep eight hours or more, use the local sounds rather than streaming and keep volume low.
Bulkier than Ozlo. At 3g per bud, the A30 is about twice the weight of the Sleepbuds 2. Most reviewers still found it comfortable, but people with small ears should check the return policy.
Touch controls. SoundGuys found them unreliable, which matters when you are fumbling in the dark.
Unproven sleep tracking. The sleep reports come from the buds’ motion sensors and the case. We found no peer-reviewed validation against polysomnography. Treat them as a rough log. Our sleep tracker accuracy guide explains what can and cannot be measured from the ear.
No wireless charging. USB-C only.
Getting the best from the A30
Three habits make a noticeable difference. Put the charging case on the snorer’s side of the bed, within range, because the snore masking depends on what its microphone hears. Use the locally stored sounds rather than streaming from your phone after lights out, since Bluetooth streaming with ANC drains the battery fastest. And spend a few nights trying different tips, silicone and foam, before deciding the fit is wrong: a good seal improves both passive isolation and ANC, and the right size is the one you stop noticing.
Health notes
ANC lowers the volume you need for masking, which is good for your hearing, but keep sound low and tips clean. Which? advises not wearing sleep earbuds every single night. If you develop ear pain, itching or discharge, stop and see a pharmacist or GP. If the snorer in your bed gasps or stops breathing during sleep, the earbuds are treating the wrong person: that pattern can signal obstructive sleep apnoea, and they should see their GP.
How the Soundcore Sleep A30 compares
Soundcore A30 vs Ozlo Sleepbuds 2. Ozlo is lighter (1.6g per bud), lasts up to 14 hours and is the most comfortable sleep earbud around, but has no ANC and costs £249. Choose Ozlo for comfort and audio, Soundcore for snoring. See our Ozlo Sleepbuds review.
Soundcore A30 vs Soundcore A20. The A20 is £80 cheaper and lasts longer in sleep mode (up to 14 hours), but has no ANC. For general noise, the A20 is fine; for snoring, pay for the A30.
Soundcore A30 vs QuietOn 4. QuietOn offers ANC with a 28-hour battery but no audio, alarm or app. The A30 does more.
Who should buy the Soundcore Sleep A30
Buy it if the noise that wakes you is low and steady: a partner’s snoring, traffic, a boiler or an air conditioning unit. Skip it if you sleep long hours and want to stream audio all night, or if you have very small ears and found the A20 too big. See every option in best sleep earbuds.
