Verdict: The Ozlo Sleepbuds 2 are the most comfortable sleep earbuds you can buy, light enough to forget on the pillow and with the battery to outlast a long night. They are also expensive for a single-purpose device, and without active noise cancellation they do less against snoring and traffic rumble than the cheaper Soundcore Sleep A30.

What the Ozlo Sleepbuds do
Ozlo exists because Bose gave up. Bose’s original Sleepbuds were withdrawn in 2019 over a battery defect, Sleepbuds II were discontinued in 2023, and in July 2025 Bose pulled the companion app. Ozlo, founded by three former Bose engineers, says it acquired the Sleepbuds branding and technology, and launched its first Sleepbuds in October 2024. The Sleepbuds 2 followed in the US in July 2026.
They do three jobs. They stream any Bluetooth audio, so you can fall asleep to a podcast, Spotify or a Calm story. When the buds detect that you have fallen asleep, they switch to a masking sound from a library of more than 60, so you are not woken by a chapter change. And they wake you with an alarm that plays only in your ears, without needing your phone.
The Smart Charging Case does more than charge. It sits on your bedside table and logs light, noise and temperature in the room, and the app combines that with the buds’ movement data to show sleep patterns. A physical button on the case starts your saved sleep sound or silences the alarm. A Sleep Shield setting stops calls and notifications from interrupting playback.
Price and plans
In the UK, the Sleepbuds 2 cost £249 at wellness retailer Healf, which took pre-orders for 21 October 2026 and now lists them in stock. In the US they cost $279. There is no subscription. Ozlo offers an optional Ozlo Care protection plan in the US.
The first-generation Sleepbuds had a £299 RRP and Healf still lists them at £298.99, though Tom’s Guide has recorded UK sale prices of £214. At full price, the newer model is cheaper and better.
What we liked
They are genuinely small. At 11mm high and 1.6g, the buds sit flush in the outer ear. SoundGuys, after five nights, called them the most comfortable sleep earbuds its reviewer had tried and scored comfort 9 out of 10. Four tip sizes, from XS to L, come in the box.
The battery covers a long night with sound playing. Ozlo rates them at up to 14 hours at 50% volume, up from 10 hours on the original. SoundGuys had about 30% left after eight hours of streaming. That margin matters if you go to bed late on Sunday and the alarm goes at six.
Phone-free use. The case button and the on-bud alarm mean you can leave the phone in another room, which is better sleep hygiene anyway.
Better pairing. Pairing from the case is quick, and SoundGuys found range and reliability improved over the first model. Dedicated podcast and air-travel modes and finer EQ make them more useful beyond the bedroom.
What we did not like
No ANC. This is the big one. The silicone tips block a lot of higher-pitched sound, but SoundGuys measured only 5dB to 10dB of reduction below 200Hz, the range where snoring and engine noise live. Masking covers much of what gets through, but if your partner snores like a diesel, the Soundcore A30’s ANC is the better tool.
Basic tracking. The sleep data relies on movement and room sensors, not heart rate or EEG. We found no peer-reviewed study validating Ozlo’s sleep tracking against polysomnography. Use it as a diary, not a measurement. Our sleep tracker accuracy guide explains the limits.
Missing conveniences. No wireless charging and no Bluetooth multipoint, so switching between phone and tablet means re-pairing.
The price for what it is. Which? made the point that £300 for the original model could buy a better mattress, pillow and duvet. That is not wrong.
Health notes
Keep volume low; Which? advises low volume, clean and dry tips, and not wearing sleep earbuds every single night. Stop using them and see a pharmacist or GP if you get ear pain, itching or discharge. If you rely on masking sound to sleep for months on end, or wake unrefreshed despite a full night, mention it to your GP; persistent insomnia and sleep apnoea both have proper treatments.
How Ozlo compares
Ozlo Sleepbuds 2 vs Soundcore Sleep A30. Soundcore costs £199.99, has ANC and a case that listens for snoring and adjusts the masking. It is slightly larger at 3g per bud and lasts less long. Ozlo wins on comfort and battery, Soundcore on blocking snoring. Read our Soundcore Sleep A30 review.
Ozlo Sleepbuds 2 vs QuietOn 4. QuietOn has strong ANC and a 28-hour battery but plays no audio at all, has no alarm and no app. Choose it only if you want silence.
Ozlo vs Bose Sleepbuds II. Bose’s buds no longer have app support, so a used pair is a gamble. Ozlo is the direct successor and adds streaming, which Bose’s buds never offered.
Who should buy Ozlo Sleepbuds
Buy the Sleepbuds 2 if you sleep on your side, ordinary earbuds hurt, and you like falling asleep to audio. They suit light sleepers bothered by voices, doors and street noise. Choose the Soundcore A30 instead if the noise is a snoring partner or constant low hum. All five of our picks are in best sleep earbuds.
Ozlo Sleepbuds FAQs
Do Ozlo Sleepbuds have noise cancelling?
No. They use passive isolation from the silicone tips plus adaptive masking sounds. There is no active noise cancellation.
Can you stream music on Ozlo Sleepbuds?
Yes. They play any Bluetooth audio, including Spotify, Audible, YouTube and Netflix, then switch to masking sounds when they detect sleep.
How long does the Ozlo Sleepbuds 2 battery last?
Up to 14 hours per charge at 50% volume, with two to three more nights from the case. SoundGuys had about 30% left after eight hours of streaming.
Are Ozlo Sleepbuds made by Bose?
No. Ozlo is a separate company founded by former Bose engineers, which says it acquired the Sleepbuds branding and technology from Bose.
Will Ozlo Sleepbuds stop snoring noise?
They reduce and mask it, but without ANC they do less against deep, loud snoring than ANC models.
