Verdict: RingConn makes the best-value smart rings on sale. The Gen 3 lasts close to two weeks, vibrates for alerts, flags signs linked to sleep apnoea and costs nothing after you buy it. Its app is plainer than Oura’s and there is far less published research behind it, but for most people who want a sleep tracker rather than a hobby, it is the sensible choice.

What RingConn’s rings do
RingConn rings use an optical sensor, temperature sensor and accelerometer to track heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen, breathing rate, skin temperature, stress, steps and sleep. Each morning the app gives a sleep score with stages, and through the day it tracks activity and stress. Women’s health features include menstrual tracking and a Baby Prep mode.
The Gen 3, which opened for pre-order in May 2026, adds two things. A small vibration motor buzzes for health alerts, inactivity reminders and low battery (it does not relay phone notifications). And the app’s blood pressure section, now called vascular insights, analyses readings you take with a separate cuff and enter yourself, looking for longer-term patterns. The ring does not measure blood pressure on its own.
It also monitors sleep for signs associated with sleep apnoea, giving short-term risk indicators and longer-term trends. It is not a diagnostic tool, and TechRadar notes it stops working below 30% battery. The ring holds 10 days of data offline.
Price and plans
RingConn’s own store lists prices only in dollars, a point TechRadar also made in its Gen 2 review. On 29 October 2026 the official store listed the Gen 3 from $349 (sale price), the Gen 2 from $299 and the Gen 2 Air at $199. TechRadar’s Gen 3 review quoted US prices of $426 for standard finishes and $454 for brushed silver and brushed rose gold, and said a UK price had not been confirmed. Tech Advisor listed the Gen 2 Air at £239 when it reviewed it; UK retailer prices have since fallen, with PriceSpy showing it from £163.90 and the Gen 2 from £179 when we checked.
There is no subscription for any feature. By contrast, two years of Oura membership adds £139.98 to the price of any Oura ring.
What we liked
Battery life that changes your habits. RingConn rates the Gen 3 at 11 to 14 days depending on settings. TechRadar measured almost 12.5 days with vascular insights and haptics on. That is about twice the Oura Ring 5’s six to nine days, and means charging every other weekend rather than every few days.
No fee, no features locked. Every metric is in the free app. That matters more than it sounds: four years of Oura membership (£279.96) costs more than a Gen 2 Air did at £239.
Sensible haptics. A gentle buzz for inactivity or a health alert is useful, and you can switch it off to save battery.
Results broadly in line with rivals. TechRadar wore the Gen 3 alongside a Whoop 5.0. On one night the ring logged 6h 16m of sleep against the Whoop’s 6h 31m, with overnight heart rate of 48 against 49 bpm. Steps were slightly undercounted.
What we did not like
Little published validation. We found no peer-reviewed study comparing the Gen 3’s sleep staging with polysomnography. RingConn claimed 90.7% accuracy for the Gen 2’s apnoea feature based on its own studies, and TechRadar noted it was not FDA-approved. Oura and Apple have far more independent research behind their numbers. Our sleep tracker accuracy guide explains why that matters.
An app that is fine rather than good. Clean and easy to find your way around, but some daily summaries are generic and the insight writing is weaker than Oura’s.
A modest upgrade. If you own a Gen 2, the Gen 3 adds haptics and vascular insights, but the core tracking is similar. TechRadar flagged no wear indicator and a fit that may differ from your expected size.
Slow syncing. Reviews of both the Gen 2 and Gen 2 Air mention slow data transfers to the phone.
Health notes
An apnoea risk indicator from a ring is a reason to talk to a doctor, not a result. If RingConn flags repeated issues, or a partner reports loud snoring with pauses in your breathing, see your GP, who can refer you for a sleep study. Vascular insights are only as good as the cuff readings you enter: use an upper-arm monitor from the British and Irish Hypertension Society’s validated list, and take readings the same way each time.
How RingConn compares
RingConn Gen 3 vs Oura Ring 5. Oura is thinner, has the better app and the most validation, but costs £399 to £499 plus £69.99 a year. RingConn lasts longer and costs less overall. Our Oura Ring review goes deeper.
RingConn Gen 3 vs Samsung Galaxy Ring. Samsung’s ring has no subscription either and works well with Galaxy phones, but it needs Android, lasts about seven days and has not been updated since 2024. RingConn works with iPhones too.
Gen 3 vs Gen 2 Air. The Air is the budget option: up to 10 days of battery, no apnoea monitoring, no haptics and only two colours. Tech Advisor still gave it an Editors’ Choice for its slim design and value.
Who should buy a RingConn
Buy the Gen 3 if you want long battery life, haptic nudges and the apnoea indicator with no running cost. Buy the Gen 2 Air if price matters most and you only want sleep and recovery basics. Look elsewhere if you want the most polished app, the deepest research base, or a ring that is as slim as the Oura Ring 5. All our picks are ranked in best smart rings.
RingConn FAQs
Does RingConn need a subscription?
No. All tracking and app features are free on every RingConn ring.
How long does the RingConn Gen 3 battery last?
RingConn rates it at up to 14 days with vibration off and 11 to 14 days overall. TechRadar measured nearly 12.5 days with alerts and vascular insights switched on.
Can RingConn detect sleep apnoea?
The Gen 3 and Gen 2 monitor signs associated with it and give risk indicators. The feature is not diagnostic, and TechRadar reported the Gen 2 version is not FDA-approved. Only a sleep study can diagnose apnoea.
Does RingConn measure blood pressure?
No. The Gen 3’s vascular insights analyse blood pressure readings you take with a separate cuff and enter into the app.
Is RingConn better than Oura?
It is better value and lasts longer. Oura has the more refined app, a slimmer ring and more independent evidence for its sleep data.
