Our verdict
Kupid AI is a straightforward media-led companion site with refreshingly specific limits. If you know you want photos, short clips and voice notes, its weekly allowances are easier to budget than token systems. The problems are around money and identity: the default weekly billing is expensive, refunds are not offered, a handful of Trustpilot reviewers describe disputed charges, and the site does not say which company runs it.

Kupid AI gives you a catalogue of characters and a builder for your own. You chat in text, and on paid plans the character sends photos, short video clips and voice messages, and independent reviewers note proactive check-ins, where a companion messages you first. The site allows adult chat for over-18s under its own terms.

The cheapest way to pay. Switch the plan page to yearly before you choose. Pro at $3.44 a week is about a quarter of the weekly-billed price, and paying weekly for a full year would cost around $675. When DailyStoke compared the two tiers, Pro covered most people’s needs; Ultra is for those who want three times the photos and close to three times the voice minutes. Kupid’s upgrade page says “One payment, nothing renews”, while its terms describe contacting support to stop rebilling, so check the renewal wording at checkout and keep the receipt.
Credits and coins: what they really cost
Plan allowances do most of the work, but Kupid’s terms also describe coins for extras. Coins given free, through a plan, trial or promotion, expire six months after they are credited; coins you buy in a pack do not expire. Coins have no cash value. Kupid does not publish a per-action coin list on its main pages, so check the cost on screen before spending.
Features that matter
Memory. Kupid is upfront here: Pro characters remember the last 30 messages, Ultra the last 100. That is enough for a running conversation, not for remembering your sister’s name from March.
Voice and video. Voice messages by the minute and short video clips, both capped weekly.
Image generation. Photos in chat plus a separate image generator, within the weekly allowance.
Customisation. Build your own companion, or pick from the catalogue. Pro allows four companions and Ultra eight, according to independent price checks.
Apps and sync. No native app. The site offers an Install App prompt to add it to your phone’s home screen, and your account follows you across devices. Nothing works offline.
Privacy and safety
Kupid AI’s terms are governed by the law of Malta, with disputes going to the Maltese courts, but neither the terms nor the privacy policy name the company behind the service. The privacy policy, dated 2023, says the service is for adults aged 18 and over, that personal data is usually kept for six years after you stop being a user, and that deletion and other rights requests are answered within a month. It says personal information will not be sold or transferred without consent, other than as the policy sets out, but it does not say whether chats are used to train AI models. Age checks rely on you confirming you are an adult.
We found no regulator action or lawsuit involving Kupid AI on the public record.
A word on healthy use. A companion that checks in on you can be a comfort, but it is not a substitute for people or for professional support. Samaritans are free on 116 123 in the UK, and 988 is the call and text line in the US.
