Coral Free Bet Offer: Six £5 Free Bets for a £5 Bet at 1/2, Credited Before It Settles

Coral’s sign-up offer: bet £5 at 1/2 or bigger and get 6 x £5 free bets. No Promo Code needed. Full terms, app, payments and our verdict.

Coral Bonus Review – A £50 Free Bet From a £10 Stake

Coral is the high-street bookmaker that began with Joe Coral’s betting pitches on the racecourse and is now part of Entain, the group behind Ladbrokes. It has been taking bets on British racing for longer than most of its rivals have existed, and its name has been on the Welsh Grand National at Chepstow for decades.

We like it for a welcome deal that asks very little, one £5 bet at 1/2 or bigger, and for free bets that land as soon as that bet is placed rather than when it settles. Here is our Coral review, starting with the welcome offer and the Promo Code.

Coral free bet bonus

Coral welcome offer and sign up bonus

The sign-up deal is a “bet and get” offer rather than a deposit match, so there is no bonus balance to wager through. It is open to new real-money customers aged 18 and over, resident in the UK or the Republic of Ireland, with a verified account and no previous deposit. You deposit, place one bet, and six £5 free bets appear.

A worked example:

  1. Register a new account and pass verification.
  2. Deposit £5 by Visa or Mastercard debit card.
  3. Place a £5 single on a football team at 4/5. That is longer than the 1/2 minimum, so it qualifies.
  4. As soon as the bet is placed, Coral credits 6 x £5 free bets: four for any sportsbook market, one for a football Bet Builder and one for a horse racing Bet Builder.
  5. If your 4/5 bet wins, you get £9 back (£4 profit plus your £5 stake). If it loses, you still keep the free bets.

You have 14 days from registration to place that first qualifying bet. In a single-line accumulator, every selection must be 1/2 or bigger, and only the win part of an each-way bet counts. Only your first placed bet is treated as the qualifying bet, and it cannot be cashed out. Specials markets, Tote, Pools and bets placed with price boosts do not qualify.

What happens to winnings. There is no wagering. Free bets are not cash, cannot be withdrawn and must be staked in full; the free bet stake is not included in winnings, and if a free bet wager becomes void, the stake is returned. The maximum payout limits in Coral’s general terms apply.

Because the stake is never returned, a free bet is worth more on longer odds. A £5 free bet at evens returns £5; the same bet at 4/1 returns £20. That does not make longshots a good idea in themselves, but very short-priced favourites waste most of the value.

  • The four open free bets: these work on any sportsbook market, so they suit singles at prices you would back anyway, around evens to 5/1.
  • The football Bet Builder free bet: keep it to two or three legs from one match, such as a team to win plus over 1.5 goals. Each extra leg lengthens the odds but cuts the chance of landing it.
  • The racing Bet Builder free bet: the same logic applies on the racecard. Fewer, sensible legs give it a fighting chance; stacking long-priced selections rarely pays.
  • Stake in full: each free bet is £5 and cannot be split across bets.

The catches.

  • Payment exclusions: deposits via Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, any prepaid card and certain debit cards do not qualify.
  • Expiry: all six free bets expire 7 days after they land. If you sign up midweek, check that the fixtures you want fall inside that window.
  • Where they cannot go: virtual sports, Tote or Pools. Free bets cannot be cashed out.
  • One shot: only your first bet counts, so a bet at the wrong price loses you the offer.

When DailyStoke set Coral’s offer beside that of its sister brand Ladbrokes, the mechanics matched: six £5 free bets, 1/2 minimum odds and 14 days to qualify. The promoter is LC International Limited, registered in Gibraltar.

Coral promo code

Coral does not use a Promo Code for its Bet £5, Get £30 offer. The free bets apply automatically when you register a new account, make a £5 deposit by an eligible method and place a qualifying first bet, so there is nothing to forget at sign-up. Codes you see elsewhere may belong to older Coral promotions or to its casino and games offers, and they will not change the sports welcome deal.

Our verdict

Coral’s offer will not win any arms race on size, but it asks for very little. A £5 first bet at short odds is about as gentle a qualifying requirement as the UK market offers, and the free bets land once the bet is placed rather than when it settles. The racing side is the real draw for existing customers: Best Odds Guaranteed, extra places and free-to-play prediction games give regular punters plenty to do. The weak spot is customer sentiment, with Trustpilot reviews heavily negative, and the payment exclusions on the sign-up deal catch out anyone who reaches for PayPal.

Pros

  • Low entry point: one £5 bet at 1/2 or bigger
  • Free bets credited once the qualifying bet is placed, not settled
  • Two Bet Builder free bets, one for football and one for racing
  • Best Odds Guaranteed on UK and Irish horse and greyhound racing from 8am
  • Visa Fast Funds withdrawals within 4 hours and PayPal within 8 hours

Cons

  • £30 total is smaller than several rivals’ sign-up deals
  • PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafe and prepaid card deposits do not qualify
  • Free bets expire after 7 days, which is short if you only bet at weekends
  • Best Odds Guaranteed is capped at £50,000 per customer per day
  • Trustpilot score of 1.2 from 3,594 reviews, 91% of them one-star

Coral racing, football and Bet Builder markets

Coral’s roots are in racing, and it shows. The core features:

  • Horse racing: Best Odds Guaranteed on UK and Irish horse and greyhound racing for bets placed after 8am on race day, extra places on selected races, and racing Bet Builders. The Racing Post’s guide to bookmaker concessions notes a £50,000 daily cap per customer on Coral’s Best Odds Guaranteed, which only matters to big-staking punters.
  • Football: a Bet Builder (marketed as Build Your Bet) across more than 100 leagues, plus price boosts on selected markets.
  • Cash out: full and partial cash out on a wide range of markets, including on bet slips from Coral shops.
  • Coral Connect: a card that links shop and online betting, useful if you still visit a high-street branch.
  • Coral Racing Club: free to join, with stable visits, race-day tickets and updates on club-owned horses.

Coral also puts its money into the sport. It has sponsored the Welsh Grand National at Chepstow for around half a century, widely cited as the longest-running sponsorship in jump racing.

What Coral does not offer is a betting exchange, so commission does not apply. Odds on mainstream football and racing are broadly in line with other big high-street brands; serious price shoppers will still want an odds comparison tool to hand.

Coral promotions for existing customers

Coral leans on free-to-play games and racing extras rather than big reload bonuses:

  • Racing Super Series: a free-to-play jackpot game based on picking placed horses in selected races.
  • Football Super Series: a weekly free-to-play prediction game for football fans, with cash and free bet prizes.
  • Daily rewards game: a free-to-play game in the app with prizes that include free bets, boost tokens and Coral Coins.
  • Coral Coins: a points currency won through promotions and games, though some reviewers report trouble redeeming them.
  • Extra places: on selected races, paying each-way on more places than standard terms.
  • Free bets on winners: periodic racing promotions that add free bets when your selection wins at a set price.

Promotions rotate, so check the opt-in terms for each one before you bet.

Coral app and customer service

The Coral app runs on iOS and Android and carries the full sportsbook, including Bet Builders, cash out and live betting. The welcome offer works in the app as well as on desktop. On the UK App Store, Coral Sports Betting Online holds 4.7 out of 5 from 69k ratings and is listed under Entain as developer; the Android app scores 4.3 from 12.7k reviews on Google Play.

Support runs through the help centre, with live chat that starts with an automated assistant before handing over to an agent. Coral is also active on Facebook, X and Instagram.

What players say about Coral

The app stores and Trustpilot could hardly disagree more. The app scores 4.7 from 69k ratings on the App Store and 4.3 from 12.7k reviews on Google Play, while Coral’s Trustpilot page holds a TrustScore of 1.2 out of 5 from 3,594 reviews, 91% of them one-star. The Trustpilot page covers Coral’s casino and games as well as the sportsbook, which drags the figure down, but the themes are consistent.

Praise is thin on the ground and tends to come from app users:

“The payout is extremely fast…” wrote Stevieuk69 on the App Store in September 2021, in a review titled “It has its ups and downs”.

The complaints are about Coral Coins, app speed and how loyal customers are treated:

“…not able to play the free to play or pay by coins casino tournaments today,” wrote Myrrh on Google Play in July 2025.

“It can take an age to move from one page to another, by which time the race has probably finished,” wrote Michael M. on Trustpilot in October 2026.

“They were my main bookmaker but I’ve deleted the app as my custom is definitely not appreciated,” wrote Stephen G. on Trustpilot in October 2026.

The recurring Trustpilot themes are problems with withdrawals and deposits, accounts restricted or closed, Coral Coins that prove hard to redeem, and slow or unhelpful customer service. Trustpilot notes that Coral does not reply to negative reviews. Trustpilot does not verify individual reviews, and unhappy customers are more likely to post. Even so, anyone joining should expect to be asked for verification documents and keep records of their deposits.

Is Coral safe? Licence and safer gambling tools

Coral.co.uk is operated by LC International Limited, part of the Entain group that also runs Ladbrokes. The UK Gambling Commission public register lists LC International Limited under account 54743, with coral.co.uk as an active domain and remote licences for general betting, pool betting, casino and bingo. • Time-outs: short breaks of 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days.
  • Self-exclusion: through Coral and nationally through GAMSTOP, which covers every UK-licensed operator, for six months to five years.

Who should pick which: Coral and Ladbrokes share an owner, a platform and, in effect, the same sign-up deal; choose Coral if you prefer its racing promotions and Coral Connect, or Ladbrokes if you already use its shops. Betfred asks for a bigger qualifying stake at longer odds, but returns £50 in free bets, so it suits punters happy to risk £10 at evens for a larger bundle.
