Spreadex Sign Up Offer: £60 in Fixed Odds and Spread Free Bets From a £10 Bet at 1/2

Spreadex sign up offer: bet £10, get £60 in fixed odds and spread free bets. How it works, the risks of spread betting, app, payments and our verdict.

Spreadex Free Bet Bonus Code

Spreadex is a St Albans firm set up by former City trader Jonathan Hufford, and it is one of the few UK bookmakers that puts a conventional sportsbook and a sports spread betting platform under one login. It also runs financial spread betting, which explains the trading-floor feel: there are still phone lines to a sports desk, and the trading rooms take bets around the clock.

We like it for its football prices, backed by Oddschecker figures that Spreadex cites as making it the best-value bookmaker on Premier League match odds over a season, and for a welcome package that pays most of its value in plain fixed odds free bets. Here is our Spreadex review, starting with the welcome offer and the Promo Code.

Spreadex Free Bet Bonus Offer

Spreadex welcome offer and sign up bonus

A £10 qualifying bet unlocks free fixed odds bets and a set of free spread bets. The fixed odds half is simple. The spread half needs more care, because spread betting can cost you more than the stake you put down. The offer is open to new customers aged 18 or over, residing in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland, once per customer; clients reopening Spreadex accounts do not qualify unless stated otherwise.

Open an account, deposit, and place “a £10 fixed odds or £10 each-way bet at odds of 1/2 or greater” (1.50 in decimal). Only the win part of an each-way bet counts. The bet can go on before the event or in-play, but it “cannot be cashed out early”. Once it settles, win or lose, the free bets start to land:

WhenWhat arrives
When the qualifying bet settles£10 free fixed odds bet, £5 Total Goals football spread bet, £5 Winning Favourites racing spread bet, £1 Race Index spread bet
24 hours later£10 free fixed odds bet, £5 Total Goals spread bet, £5 Winning Favourites spread bet
A further 24 hours later£10 free fixed odds bet, £5 Total Goals spread bet, £5 Winning Favourites spread bet

That first drop is worth £21, so do not panic if the full amount is not there on day one.

A worked example. You deposit £10 and back a horse each-way at 4/1 for £5 each way (£10 total). Only the £5 win part counts, so this bet would not be enough. Placing £10 each-way (£20 total) or a £10 win single at 6/4 is the safer route. Say your £10 single at 6/4 loses. You still receive £30 in free fixed odds bets over two days, plus the spread bets if your spread account is approved. If you then place one £10 free bet at 2/1 and it wins, you receive £20; the £10 free stake is not returned.

Using the free bets. Tick “Use Free Bet” on the bet slip. Fixed odds free bets can go in-play but cannot be cashed out and must run to the end, and free bet stakes are not included in winnings. They tend to work better at odds around evens or bigger, where the winnings make up for the missing stake. All free bets expire 28 days after being awarded if unused. No wagering requirement is attached, in line with the UK cap of 10x on any bonus.

The catches. Free spread bets are available only “if you hold a full spread betting account”, which means extra checks, as spread betting is a regulated financial product. Spreadex adds: “Whilst these are free bets, please remember that when Spread betting it is possible to incur losses that exceed your initial stake.” The offer cannot be combined with any other Spreadex offer, staff of spread betting or fixed odds firms (and their relatives or partners) are not eligible, and Spreadex can withhold it if it suspects collusion or abuse. When DailyStoke added up the components, they came to £61 (£30 fixed odds, £15 Total Goals, £15 Winning Favourites and £1 Race Index) against a headline of £60. Either way, the bulk of the value sits in the three £10 fixed odds bets.

Spreadex promo code

Spreadex says the Promo Code field is optional for Bet £10 Get £60, so you can leave it blank and still qualify. Join, place your £10 qualifying bet, and the free bets follow automatically after it settles. Forgetting a code makes no difference to this offer.

Treat codes on other sites with caution. Some will be for older Spreadex deals, such as earlier Bet £10 Get £40 or up-to-£50 offers, or for the separate spread betting cashback offer, and they may not unlock the package described here.

Spreadex review: our verdict

Spreadex is a bookmaker for people who care about prices. Its fixed odds book is competitive on football, its Bet Builder and cash out tools are solid, and the spread markets give experienced punters something no ordinary sportsbook can. The welcome package is generous by headline value, and the fixed odds part (three £10 free bets for a £10 stake at 1/2) is among the more accessible offers in DailyStoke’s betting ranking. The spread bets are a different matter. They are a decent way to see how the format works, but they are not a no-loss trial, and anyone new to spreads should read how losses are calculated before using them.

Pros

  • Three £10 free fixed odds bets from a single £10 qualifying stake at 1/2, with each-way bets counting (win part only)
  • Long 28-day window to use the free bets
  • Fixed odds and spread betting on one account
  • Three cash out options: One-Click, Auto and Partial Cash Out
  • Phone support, including a freephone sports desk, which few online bookmakers still offer
  • Trustpilot score of 4.4 from 2,288 reviews and an App Store rating of 4.7

Cons

  • Half of the headline value is in spread bets that need a full spread betting account
  • Spread betting losses can exceed your stake and your deposit, even on free bets
  • Free bets arrive in three batches over 48 hours, with only £21 in the first drop
  • No e-wallets for deposits or withdrawals
  • No Best Odds Guaranteed on racing, according to several Trustpilot reviewers
  • No casino or slots, which some players will miss

Free spread bets: how they work, and what they can cost

Instead of backing a result, you choose whether the outcome will be higher (buy) or lower (sell) than a quoted range, and you win or lose your stake for every unit the result lands away from your price. That is why the losses are not capped at the stake.

Take a Total Goals spread quoted at 2.6 to 2.8 and a free bet of £5 per goal:

  • Buy at 2.8, match ends 3-1 (4 goals): you are 1.2 goals ahead of the price, so you make 1.2 x £5 = £6.
  • Buy at 2.8, match ends 0-0: you are 2.8 goals under, so the result is 2.8 x £5 = £14 against you.
  • Sell at 2.6, match ends 4-2 (6 goals): you are 3.4 goals out, so the result is 3.4 x £5 = £17 against you.

In each losing case the amount owed is larger than the £5 stake. Spreadex’s terms are clear that this can happen on the free spread bets too. Before using them, check how a market is settled, how far a result could plausibly move from the quote, and whether you are comfortable with the worst likely outcome. The Winning Favourites and Race Index markets on racing follow the same buy or sell logic with their own points systems, which Spreadex explains on each market. If you would rather not take on that risk, use the fixed odds free bets and leave the spread bets to expire.

Betting markets at Spreadex: football, racing, cricket and spreads

Football is the core of the fixed odds book. Spreadex covers the Premier League and Champions League prominently, and it is an official partner of several EFL clubs, including Derby County, Watford, Norwich City, Sheffield United, Preston North End and Blackburn Rovers. It also says it was the best-value fixed odds bookmaker on the Premier League 1X2 market over a full season, with an average overround of 102.1%, citing Oddschecker. That is a company claim, but it fits what regular users say about football prices.

The wider menu takes in horse racing, cricket, tennis, golf and basketball, plus a Bet Builder for combining selections from one match at odds of up to 1000/1, and Price Boosts on markets such as First Scorer and Both Teams To Score. Cash out comes in three forms: One-Click, Auto and Partial. Racing pages carry live streaming and a “Previous Runs” view for UK and Irish races. On the spread side, Spreadex publishes guides to football, cricket, horse racing and golf spread betting, and the welcome package introduces three of its markets: Total Goals, Winning Favourites and the Race Index, where you trade on how a horse performs.

Spreadex does not list Best Odds Guaranteed among its racing features, and several Trustpilot reviewers say it does not offer it.

Spreadex promotions for existing customers

Spreadex runs ongoing offers for existing customers on its betting offers pages. On football these include 2-Up Early Payout and Acca Boost; on racing, First Past the Post and 2nd to a Rag Insurance, which returns a free bet up to £25; and there are Lucky Double Odds and free spread bets alongside. There is no casino side, so there are no free spins or casino loyalty schemes. Opinions on its promotions are split: some Trustpilot reviewers praise them, while others call the free bets weaker than at larger bookmakers.

Spreadex’s offer terms state that you can withdraw your deposit balance at any time. Fixed odds customer funds are held on trust in a segregated account at Barclays or Lloyds, which Spreadex describes as “medium protection”. Several Trustpilot reviewers mention fast withdrawals and payouts. As with all UK operators, you may be asked for identity and address documents before your first withdrawal.

Spreadex app and customer service

The Spreadex Sports Betting app is free on iOS and Android, with Face ID or Touch ID login on iPhone. On the UK App Store it holds 4.7 out of 5 from about 1.4k ratings, and on Google Play 4.6 from 521 reviews. The app carries both fixed odds and spread markets, so you do not need separate apps for each.

Spreadex lists three main contacts: email at info@spreadex.com, general enquiries on 01727 895 000 and a sports desk on 08000 526 575. Having a phone line at all is unusual among online bookmakers. Live chat opens from the contact page, and the sports customer service team works 7.30am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and 8.30am to 10pm on Sundays.

What Spreadex customers say

On Trustpilot Spreadex scores 4.4 out of 5 from 2,288 reviews, with 66% at five stars and 12% at one star, and it replies to most negative reviews. The apps rate 4.7 on the UK App Store from 1.4k ratings and 4.6 on Google Play from 521 reviews. Recurring praise covers competitive football odds, fast withdrawals, helpful staff and a clear layout that explains spread bets to newcomers. Recurring complaints concern racing prices, the absence of Best Odds Guaranteed, markets suspended close to kick-off, confusion over how the £60 is paid out, and promotions that some feel are thin.

“Excellent selection of bets, both spread bets and fixed odds. Good info explaining the bet for the novice,” wrote St K. on Google Play in August 2026.

“Excellent sports book … the way all books should operate,” wrote Michael M. on Trustpilot in October 2026.

“false advertising, advertising £60 free bets but you only receive £21 in free bets,” wrote Tommy H. on Google Play in September 2026. That £21 matches the first of the three drops described above.

“A couple of things I find frustrating : having to log in and confirm location every time I open the app,” wrote Paul L. on Google Play in September 2024.
