Flexiroam Promo Code Deals: 30% Off Local eSIMs and a 70GB Global Plan Valid for 360 Days

Flexiroam is the Malaysian-founded eSIM that sells data by the year as happily as by the weekend. Its local plans are currently marked down by 30%, its global plans by far more, and the real question is whether the struck-through prices were ever meant to be paid.

  • Cheapest plan: 1GB for 3 days in the UK, USA or Japan, US$3.20 (£2.40 / €2.85)
  • Unlimited plans: 3GB a day at full speed under fair use; none listed for the UK, US, Japan or Europe when we checked

Verdict

Flexiroam is at its best for people who travel often and unpredictably. A global data plan valid for 360 days, shareable with a travelling partner, is a genuinely different product from the week-long country eSIMs most rivals push. For a single fortnight in one country it is competitive rather than cheap, and its regional Europe plans are oddly short.

Pros

  • Global plans valid for up to 360 days, useful for frequent flyers
  • Local UK, US and Japan prices are keen at the moment, 10GB for 30 days in the UK costs US$15.20
  • FlexiShare lets you pass data to another Flexiroam user in 100MB slices
  • Hotspot permitted, and plans can be scheduled to start on a chosen date
  • Strong Trustpilot score, with support praised for speed

Cons

  • No phone number, no SMS, and in-app calling ended in January 2026
  • Europe regional plans last only 3 to 15 days, and FlexiShare doesn’t work on them
  • Refunds carry a 5% admin fee and usually come back as account credit
  • Permanent-looking “30% off” labels make the real price hard to judge
  • App Store rating is a middling 3.5/5, with complaints about dropped connections

Flexiroam discount codes and referral credit: what actually works

There is no exclusive DailyStoke code for Flexiroam at present. What you get instead is the discount Flexiroam has already baked into its shop. Every local plan we checked for the UK, the USA and Japan, and every Europe regional plan, carried a “30% off” label against a struck-through price. North America regional plans showed 20% off.

Global plans are where the reductions get theatrical. At the time of checking, the 70GB plan valid for 360 days was listed at US$99 (£74.29 / €88.17), down from US$329.90 (£247.56 / €293.81), under a “10.10 Sale” banner. The 8GB, 90-day plan was US$39.90 (£29.94 / €35.53) instead of US$79.90 (£59.96 / €71.16).

A worked example: a 10GB UK plan valid for 30 days lists at US$21.71 (£16.29 / €19.33). With the shop’s 30% reduction you pay US$15.20 (£11.41 / €13.54), a saving of US$6.51 (£4.89 / €5.80). No code is needed; the price at checkout is the reduced one.

Flexiroam’s App Store listing also promises a free eSIM and 20% off your first data plan; the checkout total shows whether that comes on top of the sale price. The eSIM itself is free with any plan bought through the app or website, according to Flexiroam’s help centre.

Coupon sites list dozens of codes for Flexiroam, most of them seasonal and long expired. Treat them with suspicion: Flexiroam’s terms allow it to withdraw promotions at any time.

The referral scheme, “Refer a Friend”, pays both sides in promotional data rather than cash. There are conditions. The referrer must hold a Global Plan, and the friend must download the app through the referrer’s link on a device that has never had Flexiroam installed, and sign up with a new email address. Flexiroam decides how much data each referral earns.

Does Flexiroam have a free trial or free eSIM?

Not in the way Nomad does. There is no free starter data for ordinary new users, and the terms don’t mention a trial.

The exception is Mastercard. Holders of eligible Mastercards can register their card in the app and receive a free eSIM (or physical SIM) and a “selected roaming plan” at no cost, followed by 15% off later plans bought with that card. The amount of free data depends on your card issuer, so check with your bank before relying on it for a trip.

Flexiroam prices: what the plans cost in the UK, Europe, the USA and Japan

Flexiroam sells fixed-data plans with validity of 3, 7, 15 or 30 days in most countries, and long global plans for months at a time. Prices below are the current reduced prices from the official shop.

The Europe regional plans are the curiosity. They are built for heavy, short bursts, so 50GB over ten days suits a working week in Berlin rather than a month of leisurely trains. For a fortnight in Lisbon on a modest budget, a single-country Portugal plan or a rival’s 30-day Europe bundle will usually make more sense.

Unlimited plans exist, according to Flexiroam’s help centre, but they come with a fair usage policy: 3GB a day at full speed, then a throttled connection good enough for email and messaging until the allowance resets 24 hours after activation. None of the UK, US, Japan or Europe pages we checked listed an unlimited plan when we looked.

Countries and coverage: where Flexiroam works

Flexiroam’s plans page lists about 169 destinations, which is the most reliable figure we could find. Its marketing is less consistent: the homepage talks of 520 networks, the App Store listing of 700+ networks and 200+ countries and regions. Flexiroam’s own terms describe the destination list as approximate and subject to change.

There are six regional bundles: Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, Greater China, Latin America and North America. Global plans sit above those, and now include in-flight data on 20 airlines.

Key destinations covered include:

  • UK and Ireland: United Kingdom, Ireland, Jersey, Gibraltar
  • Western Europe: France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland
  • Northern and Eastern Europe: Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Greece, Malta
  • North America: United States, Canada, Mexico
  • Asia: Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Hong Kong, China
  • Middle East and Africa: United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Egypt, South Africa, Kenya
  • Oceania and Latin America: Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru

The exact country list inside the Europe regional bundle isn’t shown on the shop page, so check that every country on your route is covered before buying.

Is Flexiroam legit? What users say on Trustpilot

Flexiroam is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange and has been selling roaming data since well before eSIMs went mainstream. On Trustpilot it scores 4.7 out of 5 from more than 2,800 reviews, with 83% of them five-star and 7% one-star.

The praise is mostly about people. Reviewers single out quick help on WhatsApp and staff who walk them through installation. “Compared to low cost competitors their customer service is top notch,” wrote Robert S from the US.

The complaints cluster around setup and connection. Some reviewers found installing the eSIM fiddly, and some plans failed mid-trip. “Need to improve the setup process cos not everyone knows how to set the Sim card manually,” wrote Nic Lee from Malaysia, in an otherwise five-star review. Another reviewer described in-flight data on Etihad as choppy throughout.

The App Store tells a cooler story: 3.5 out of 5 from 247 ratings, with recent reviews mentioning dropped connections and slow replies.

How to buy and set up a Flexiroam eSIM

  1. Check your phone supports eSIM and is unlocked. Flexiroam won’t refund plans bought for incompatible or carrier-locked phones.
  2. Download the Flexiroam app (iOS or Android), or buy on the website.
  3. Choose a local, regional or global plan and pay by credit or debit card, or Apple Pay.
  4. Install the eSIM while you are still on home Wi-Fi.
  5. In the app, open My Plans, tap Activate Plan, and choose Start Immediately or Schedule Future Date.
  6. On arrival, switch mobile data to the Flexiroam line and turn on data roaming for it.

Validity starts on activation, or on the date you scheduled. Don’t leave a plan sitting for too long: anything bought and not activated within 90 days activates itself, with no refund.

Hotspot and tethering are allowed, including on unlimited plans within the fair usage limit. A family of four sharing one phone’s hotspot in Tokyo would get through a 10GB Japan plan quickly, though; FlexiShare, which moves data between Flexiroam accounts, is the tidier option on global and most regional plans.

There is no phone number. Calls and messages have to go through WhatsApp, FaceTime and the like, and your home SIM stays active for texts and bank codes if you leave it switched on.

Refunds must be requested within 120 days and while the problem is happening on your trip. A full refund applies only if no data has been used, a 5% admin fee comes off every refund, and refunds to the original card are reserved for faults on Flexiroam’s side that couldn’t be fixed during the trip.

Flexiroam vs Airalo vs Nomad: which eSIM for the UK and Europe?

We compared official prices for the same destination and validity. Where a provider doesn’t sell that exact plan, we say so.

PlanFlexiroamAiraloNomad

Europe, 10GB, 30 daysNot offered (Europe plans run 3 to 15 days)US$31 (£23.26 / €27.61)US$23 (£17.26 / €20.48)

For a fixed amount of data in the UK, Flexiroam is the cheapest of the three right now. For unlimited UK data, Nomad undercuts Airalo, sharply so over a month. For a month across Europe, Nomad is again the better buy, and Flexiroam simply doesn’t sell that plan.

Pick Flexiroam if you travel several times a year and want one global plan that lasts, or a cheap fixed bundle for a single country. Pick Nomad if you want a free trial first and the best value on long Europe or UK unlimited plans; Locals Insider readers can use the Promo Code LOCALS on eligible plans. Pick Airalo if you prefer the widest choice of short regional plans, with NEWTOAIRALO15 taking 15% off a first eSIM.

Flexiroam FAQs

Is there a Flexiroam promo code that works?
Flexiroam’s own shop currently shows 30% off local plans and up to 70% off selected global plans, with no code needed. Codes on coupon sites are mostly expired seasonal promotions. Eligible Mastercard holders get a separate discount through the app.

Is Flexiroam legit and safe to use?
Yes. It is an ASX-listed company with a 4.7 out of 5 Trustpilot score from more than 2,800 reviews. Card payments are processed by Stripe.

Does Flexiroam give you a phone number?
No. The eSIM is data only, with no number and no SMS. In-app calling was discontinued on 1 January 2026, so use WhatsApp or similar apps for calls.

Is Flexiroam unlimited data really unlimited?
Not at full speed. The fair usage policy gives 3GB a day at full speed, then a slower connection suited to email and messaging. The allowance resets every 24 hours from activation.

Can I use Flexiroam as a hotspot?
Yes, tethering is supported, including on unlimited plans within fair use. You can also send data to another Flexiroam user through FlexiShare, in 100MB steps, on global and most regional plans except Europe.

When does a Flexiroam plan start?
When you activate it in the app, or on a date you schedule in advance. Plans not activated within 90 days of purchase activate automatically.

Can I get a refund from Flexiroam?
Only in set circumstances, mainly technical faults during your trip, and within 120 days of purchase. A 5% admin fee is deducted, and unused data on an expired plan is not refunded.

Is Flexiroam cheaper than Airalo?
For fixed-data plans in the UK, USA and Japan, Flexiroam’s current sale prices are competitive and often lower. For unlimited plans and 30-day Europe bundles, Airalo and Nomad offer plans Flexiroam doesn’t currently list.
