AmWager is a horse racing betting site built for people who read past performances over breakfast. It is a licensed advance deposit wagering (ADW) platform, run from Prospect, Kentucky, by a company that began life operating off-track betting parlors, which means you fund an account and bet into the same pari-mutuel pools as fans at the track.
We like it for its ticket-building tools, ABC, Dutch, Rank and PowerBox, which make exotic bets quicker to put together than on most rivals, and for cash rewards paid daily on every wager with no minimum play. Here is our AmWager review, starting with the welcome offer and the promo code.
AmWager Promo Code: None needed

AmWager welcome offer and sign-up bonus
AmWager’s offer is a straight match rather than bonus bets. Whatever you deposit first, up to $50, AmWager matches in promotional wagering credit once you have bet the same amount. It is open to new account holders aged 21+ in AmWager-eligible states, one per person and per household, and Idaho residents are excluded.
- Open a new account and pass identity checks.
- Make your first deposit. That number sets both your bonus and your betting requirement.
- Within 30 days of signing up, place total wagers equal to or greater than that first deposit. Show bets, and any cancelled or refunded wagers, do not count.
- Within seven business days of hitting the target, AmWager pays the matching credit to your account in a single deposit.
- Use the credit within 30 days. It cannot be withdrawn, but any winnings it produces are paid as cash.
A worked example in dollars
You sign up in Lexington, Kentucky, on a Saturday at Keeneland and deposit $50.
- You bet a $10 win bet on the 4 horse in the third race, a $12 exacta box (4-7-9 at $2 per combination, six combinations), an $18 trifecta part-wheel, and a $10 Pick 4 ticket on the late races. That is $50 in qualifying wagers.
- A $10 show bet you added on the 2 horse does not count toward the $50.
- Within seven business days, AmWager credits $50 in promotional wagering credit.
You then use that $50 credit on a $2 win bet on a 12-1 shot and other tickets. If the long shot wins, the payout is cash in your account, ready to withdraw. If you deposited only $20, the match would be $20, and you would need $20 in qualifying bets.
The catches are modest but real: $50 is small next to the big sportsbook brands, the credit arrives up to seven business days after you qualify, and show bets, the safest pari-mutuel bet, don’t count toward the requirement.
To sign up:
- Start on the official site. The offer button takes you to the AmWager registration page. Joining starts with an email and password.
- Enter your details. Name, date of birth and principal residence address. AmWager requires every account holder to be 21 or older, even in states with an 18+ minimum.
- Verify your identity. AmWager checks your identity, age and residence electronically or by documents before your first wager. It may ask for your Social Security number or tax ID and a government ID.
- Allow location checks where required. In states that require it, AmWager confirms your physical location before your first wager and at the start of each session.
- Make your first deposit. Up to $50 to get the full match.
- Bet your deposit amount within 30 days. Skip show bets for this part.

Our verdict
Rating: 4.2/5 | Best for: horseplayers who bet exotics, track variety, cash rewards
AmWager is a horseplayer’s site first and a promotions site second, a serious handicapper’s tool that also happens to be easy for a beginner to start on. The track list is huge, video is free, and the cash rewards program pays back something on every wager without asking you to reach a volume tier first. The deposit match is modest and there is no native app in the App Store or Google Play, but if you bet more than a couple of races a week it is a smart account to hold next to the racing products from FanDuel and DraftKings.
Pros
- No promo code needed for the deposit match
- More than 490 tracks, including harness, Quarter Horse and greyhound racing
- Free live streaming and replays on every race
- Cash rewards on all wagers, paid daily, with no minimum play
- Advanced wager tools such as ABC, Dutch, Rank, PowerBox and odds range conditions
- Licensed by the Oregon Racing Commission with separate licenses in 12 states
Cons
- $50 maximum bonus is small
- Show bets do not count toward the bonus requirement
- No native App Store or Google Play app
- Not available in 20 states, including New Jersey, Texas and Virginia
- Support only runs noon to 8pm ET, early for West Coast night racing
Tracks, bet types and racing features
Tracks
AmWager offers wagering on more than 490 tracks covering Thoroughbred, Standardbred (harness), Quarter Horse and Greyhound racing. Its promotions page regularly features headline meets and events such as Belmont Park, the Breeders’ Cup and the Breeders Crown. Greyhounds are more than a sideline: AmWest has told the North Dakota Legislature that over 10% of its daily wagering is on greyhound racing. Some tracks are blocked for residents of particular states. Ohio residents, for example, cannot bet Mahoning Valley or Thistledown, and Oklahoma residents cannot bet Fair Meadows or Remington Park. Greyhound wagering is not offered in several states, including California, New York and Pennsylvania.
Bet types
Because AmWager bets into the host track’s pari-mutuel pools, you get the same menu the track offers on each race:
- Straight bets: win, place and show.
- Exotics: exacta, quinella, trifecta and superfecta, plus Super High Five where tracks run it.
- Multi-race bets: daily double, Pick 3, Pick 4, Pick 5 and Pick 6.
- Box, wheel and key bets for any of the exotics.
Unlike a fixed-odds sportsbook, there is no parlay builder, same game parlay or odds boost here. Prices are set by the pool, so the odds keep moving until the gates open.
Betting tools
AmWager’s wager modifiers are its standout feature:
- ABC wagering lets you rank horses into A, B and C groups and build tickets around them.
- Dutch splits a stake across several horses so each returns roughly the same amount.
- Rank builds tickets from your order of preference.
- PowerBox creates box-style tickets with weightings.
- Odds range conditions hold a bet unless the horse’s odds stay inside a range you set.
- TruOdds and Sparklines show price movement so you can see where the money is going.
Free past performances are offered every day, and the site links to its full wagering rules by jurisdiction. Every race comes with free live video, and you can watch historical replays when you are handicapping a horse’s last start.
Rewards and promotions for existing customers
AmWager’s cash rewards program pays back on all wagers, with rewards deposited daily. There is no minimum play to qualify, and reward levels rise with your average monthly handle. Points can be redeemed for wagering credit, data products and merchandise. AmWager also runs 0% takeout promotions on selected races, where no takeout is deducted from the pool, which lifts payouts. Idaho residents are excluded from rewards and promotions.
Payments and withdrawals
| Method | Deposits | Withdrawals | Timing and fees |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bank card | Yes | Yes, to an eligible card used for a deposit | Card withdrawals depend on the card network and issuer |
| ACH (bank account) | Yes, may take up to 7 business days to clear | Yes, to the same account used to deposit | Usually reaches your bank 1 to 3 business days after processing |
| Check | Yes | Yes | Processed within 5 business days; $50 for expedited delivery |
| Money order | Yes | No | |
| Wire transfer | Yes | Yes | $25 fee on withdrawals under $5,000, free at $5,000 or more |
A card or bank account needs a settled deposit of at least $25 before it can receive withdrawals. Card and ACH withdrawals are limited to 25 transactions and $5,000 in total in any seven-day period. Other methods may appear in your cashier depending on your state.
App and customer service
AmWager does not have a native app in the App Store or Google Play, so there are no store ratings to report. The betting platform runs in your phone’s browser at full functionality, including live video and the wager modifiers, and can be saved to your home screen like an app. That is a real trade-off against FanDuel Racing and DK Horse, which have store apps, but it means updates arrive without a download.
AmWager Player Support is available by phone at 1-877-767-4447 and by email at help@amwager.com, from noon to 8pm ET daily. Support may close on major holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and Easter. The FAQ covers account setup, verification and wagering basics. If you need help with a late West Coast card, note that phone support closes at 8pm Eastern.
What players say
With no store app, the main pool of player reviews is AmWager’s Google rating, 4.7 out of 5, whose reviews AmWager displays on its homepage. They are overwhelmingly positive, so treat them as a friendly sample. Support gets the most praise: “Customer service is the best, always quick to respond to any questions or concerns,” wrote Steve G. in early 2026. Alan K. singled out the pricing promotions around the same time: “0% takeout in weekly featured tracks is an amazing offer!”
The welcome deal earns praise too. “Literally the best new user bonus, simple, credited quick, website has a great interface,” wrote Jeff M. in 2024. The complaint that comes up is coverage, not payouts: “Nice site but missing a couple of tracks I’d like to wager on,” wrote Derek D., also in 2024.
The recurring themes are fast deposits and withdrawals, the Dutch and exotic-ticket tools, the rebates and live phone support. The weak spots are missing tracks, whether because of state restrictions or track agreements, and support hours that end at 8pm ET, early for night racing fans. No Trustpilot or BBB profile for AmWager turned up.
License, safety and safer gambling
An ADW account works like a betting wallet at the track. You deposit funds, place wagers online, and your money joins the same pools as on-track and simulcast bettors. Payouts are calculated after takeout, the share the track and state keep from each pool, and are credited automatically once the race is official.
AmWager is run by AmWest Entertainment LLC, whose founder and CEO is Nelson Clemmens, and it is a member of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association. Its totalizator hub is licensed by the Oregon Racing Commission, the regulator that covers multi-jurisdictional ADWs in states that do not license online pari-mutuel wagering themselves. AmWager holds separate licenses where states require them, and eligibility is based on your principal residence.
Separately licensed states: California (California Horse Racing Board), Colorado (Division of Racing Events, license 201601575), Idaho (Idaho State Racing Commission), Illinois (Illinois Racing Board), Indiana (Indiana Horse Racing Commission), Kentucky (Kentucky Horse Racing Commission), Massachusetts (Massachusetts Gaming Commission), Montana (Montana Board of Horse Racing, license 2022-001), New York (New York State Gaming Commission), North Dakota (North Dakota Racing Commission), Pennsylvania (Pennsylvania State Horse Racing Commission) and West Virginia (West Virginia Racing Commission, license ADW-2022-05).

AmWager vs FanDuel and DraftKings
FanDuel and DraftKings both run separate racing products alongside their sportsbooks. Here is how AmWager compares.
| Feature | AmWager | FanDuel (FanDuel Racing) | DraftKings (DK Horse) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Product type | Standalone ADW | ADW linked to the FanDuel brand | ADW linked to the DraftKings brand |
| Welcome offer | Up to $50 first deposit match bonus | See our FanDuel review | See our DraftKings review |
| Promo code | No promo code needed | See review | See review |
| Rewards | Daily cash rewards on all wagers | See review | See review |
| Advanced wager tools | ABC, Dutch, Rank, PowerBox | See review | See review |
| Native store app | No, browser-based | Yes | Yes |
| Fixed-odds sports betting | No | Yes, in the separate sportsbook | Yes, in the separate sportsbook |
When DailyStoke compared the racing options, AmWager’s edge was depth for exotic players rather than bonus size. If you also want to bet NFL spreads or same game parlays, you will need a sportsbook such as Hard Rock Bet or bet365 alongside AmWager; ADWs only take pari-mutuel racing bets.
