One of the most popular water events in the world has been recognised for its achievements after it was confirmed ‘The Race’ has been nominated for three awards at the 2019 ceremony.

The Race will compete for the top prize in three categories: the Fan or Community Engagement Award, Cutting Edge Sport Award, and the Social and Sustainable Development Award.

Formerly known as the Volvo Ocean Race, the competition’s most recent season ran from October 2017 until June 2018 and was won by China’s Dongfeng Race Team.

The next edition of The Race isn’t due to begin until 2021.
