World Rowing explained the points qualification system for rowers ahead of the Summer Games in next year, with the 2022 World Rowing Championships that will compete in Saundersfoot, Wales.

Italy have just about come out on top of the last two medal tables at the World Rowing Championships and finished as the most prolific nation in 2018 despite the fact they had only eight medals to the United States’ 10. The key difference there was that Italy had three golds, four silvers and one bronze, while the United States had three golds, three silvers and four bronzes
Prior to that, Great Britain were back-to-back winners in 2015 and 2016. That trend could begin anew in 2019 as a new contender prepares to win the first of successive world championships.
New Zealand last won the World Rowing Championships in 2014 but have since finished second in the medal standings on two occasions (2015, 2017). However, morale will be somewhat low for the Kiwis after they finished without a gold medal to their name in 2018, the first time in 17 years that they’ve failed to win a single race.
In 2019 the World Rowing Championships returned to Ottensheim for the first time in 11 years and will see a list of contenders old and new vie to become the world’s best in Austria.

The 2022 World Rowing Championships will take place over the course of a week and will run from 7-16 October.
The first weekend; the top club coastal rowers around the world will compete in a course along the beautiful coastline surrounding Saundersfoot.
The second weekend; the elite international competitors take part in the exciting new beach sprint rowing format.
